Treehouse

This blog post is sponsored by the Treehouse Museum, a local treasure in Ogden that is geared toward kids playing and learning and is phenomenal for toddlers and preschoolers. Our friends took us last month and then we bought a membership and took Brian for an adventure too! We plan on spending lots of time there this winter. Let me share some of the highlights of the 2 visits:

Brian in the Oval Office. Yep, he could totally be President if he wanted too.

Me on the other hand....I'd prefer not to think about it, but I still posed for a picture.

Elliott and his good buddy Lindsey make cute firefighters.

Then we got right down to business riding horses. Elliott loved it until I rocked the horse back and forth and then he felt he was too high off the ground and wanted down. We'll have to break him in slowly.

I love anyplace that you can use water and paint on the walls. Too awesome!!

The kids were excited about it too!

There is an old fashioned one-room schoolhouse with primers and chalk slates - reminded me of Little House on the Prairie and Anne of Green Gables. Elliott doesn't have those memories, but he liked it just the same.

We took time for a little Tea Party in an English cottage decorated with Beatrix Potter books and pictures. Elliott is a pro at tea parties!

Elliott put on a puppet show. (ok ok he only stood there for a second to snap a pic, but soon he will be able to grasp the concept and put his hand in a puppet and then the magic will happen!)

Elliott liked walking among the giant pawns of the chess set. Brian actually wanted to play, but quickly realized that was impossible with small children running amok and imitating him.

Unfortunately Elliott will not be the King of England as he could not pull the sword from the stone. (I guess we'll have to save for college now.)

Elliott may not know how to hold a puppet, but he sure knows how to perform and the curtains and stages and costumes give kids a great place to practice and play.

Elliott also loved the horses and knights that he could play with.

But if I really need a few solid hours of entertainment, the train sets will definately keep Elliott occupied.

Seriously, he was in little boy heaven!! (They also have a doll area, but we don't require those services.)

There is still so much more to the Treehouse that we haven't taken pictures of yet, or that Elliott is still a bit too young to enjoy. But there is so much to explore and discover and just play with that we are glad to have a membership so we can take our time and have fun over and over and over. Man, I never want to grow up!!
