Black Island Farms

We live in such a great neighborhood with lots of kids for Elliott to play with and lots of other moms for me to socialize with. Seriously though, I have such a great circle of friends and am so incredibly glad to be a part of such a great neighborhood! My friend Heidi organized a group of us to go to Black Island Farms, a local farm with corn mazes and lots of fun fall activities in Syracuse. We met up at 9 am for a wagon ride to a garden and pumpkin patch.

After we found some pumpkins  the farmer came and cut them off the vine. I'm glad we didn't pick giant pumpkins since I had to carry them both because Elliott doesn't like to get dirty. He did hold the pumpkin later though.

 After the ride, we put the pumpkins in the car and then we got to explore and play.

 There was also an adorable train pulled behind a tractor. The line wasn't long, but all the kids rushed the cars before it stopped and I had to step in to make sure my kid, who was at the front of the line, actually got a ride! Luckily his car was wide enough for his friend Calli, who also got pushed out of line.  But they had fun!

 We decided to wait for some more friends to ride the train before going out to lunch at McDonalds, Elliott was hot and bored and found a nice spot to rest in the shade. 

We also watched some pigs race and Elliott bounced in a bounce cow. He wasn't a fan of the corn pit so we didn't waste any time there. Overall, we really enjoyed our morning out. I think during school days, you have to schedule a group time to go, but it only costs $4 a person and was well worth it! And Elliott and I haven't ventured out of the house much this spring and summer since pregnancy is hard, so this outing was all the more meaningful.
