Easter - twice as nice

The Ashtons delayed their Easter Egg Hunt for 2 weeks so everyone could be in town and together, and boy was it worth the wait! Uncles Kevin and Scott put together an amazing little scavenger hunt from the Christmas Monkey that the Canfield kids had to follow.

It eventually led them here, where the Easter bag was tied extremely high up in the tree by balloons. The hunt led them to this air soft gun that Kevin used to shoot the balloons, releasing the bag to drop down.
Trust me when I say it was very impressive.
The not-so-impressive part came when the bag was opened to reveal the likes of spam and vienna saugage - NOT EASTER CANDY! Saffy was especially disappointed.
Fortunately for Elliott, his candy was easy to find. Which was great since he slept through the whole thing.
Luckily, there was a note to for the kids to barter with the giant gummy bear trader in order to get actual candy. The kids presented their yucky foods to the gummy bear in exchange for yummy Easter candy. Do not worry, we did not start worshipping idols.
But what else is to be done with the World's Largest Gummy Bear?
Elliott could totally take down the wimpy gummy monster! (Only when the guards weren't looking.)

Seriously, that is one GIANT gummy bear!
Kevin found this gem in New York City and was awesome enough to share it with the rest of us. After he nibbled off its ear first of course.
The only setback came when Saffy had a meltdown and tried in vain to save the gummy bear from being slaughtered. She cried for us not to eat her friend. But we ate it anyway and soon enough Saffy could be seen walking past and nibbling off part of the leg (She was too young to use the knife after all!)
Wow, it was a very memorable day! Thanks Kevin and Scott for making it so complicated and interesting and FUN! This will be hard to beat for sure.

Earlier on actual Easter, Elliott got a giant duck and some Easter eggs, which he loves to play with!
"This is no girly duck!"
It is so soft and snuggly.
It didn't take Elliott long at all to figure out what to do with and Easter basket and all those Easter eggs.
Why, eat them of course!
This is the good life! We have wonderful families that like to have fun and play together! Elliott is so lucky to have so many to love him and we are so lucky to have Elliott!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter too, even though I am sure no one had one quite like we did.

What a candy bear! Maybe Elliott will be awake for the Easter hunt next year. Looks like it was lots of fun.
