Friday June 1, was the last day of school for the kids in our neighborhood and so my neighbors planned this amazing end-of-school-beginning-of-summer party! Elliott watched The Backyardigans while I helped to set up and get our salad and drinks ready for the party. Then we lathered on lots of sunscreen and covered up Elliott's skin as much as possible and headed 2 houses over for the fun.
At the Hall's house, there were swimming pools and sprinklers and water balloons.
Then, next door at the Crawford's we had a dunk tank!! The kids definately loved this the most, they went from the line to be dunked to the line throwing the balls and had a blast! A highlight was that the kids' Kindergarten teacher showed up in her wetsuit and took a turn in the dunk tank too. What a fun teacher!
Then 2 houses down at the Frandsen's, they were making popcorn for everyone!
Elliott loved the popcorn and was so excited! Then later for the movie, the moms assembled bags of popcorn and put glowsticks in them and then handed out glowing bags of popcorn. It was pure magic!
After a few hours of water games and otter pops, we were ready for the barbeque. The Halls and Crawfords provided grills and yard space for the dinner.
We had lots of yummy salads to share too.
Then for the finale, we watched Rio on a projector in the Crawford's front yard.
Elliott enjoyed the movie with our neighbor Cassidy who loves to play with him as well. In fact, she reminds me a bit of me in her love of playing with small kiddoes.
We really love our wonderful neighborhood, especially the street we live on. On any given day, 1 or more neighbors will be out in the front yard and then we all flock there to chat and let the kids play. It is so great to be around other stay-at-home moms with young kids. We sure are happy to have a house and live in a great community! It is a blessing.

We definitely need to move to your neighborhood. That is amasing.
