Aviary

I had never visited the Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park in Salt Lake before. So we decided we needed 

to go check it out. And in the past few years, since voters approved a bond, it has grown and made lots of improvements. We were impressed with all the birds and trees and shrubs and how cool it was to walk around and buy some pellets to feed the ducks. There were also volunteers wandering around to talk about the birds and show us feathers and eggs. 

Elliott climbed up into this little fort and Brian went too. 

 They don't have a large bird show until the theater is finished being built, but they have some bird encounters and we waited a few minutes for one. 

 Brian is always cheerful. 

 I'm happy to be there too!

 I can't remember the name of this bird, but it was pretty. 

 This is Picasso.

 Picasso paints and then you can buy the pictures in the gift shop. They named him Picasso, knowing they would train him to paint, they also have other birds named after artists, but haven't been trained yet. 

 Elliott is dwarfed by this bird.

 Now we know how Marlin and Dory felt in Finding Nemo!

 Elliott was very adventurous and willing to go along, however after a few hours and rising temperatures, I was ready for lunch and air conditioning. We had brought a picnic to eat in the park, but opted instead to eat it at Brian's parents house. It was much cooler and it's always nice to drop in for a visit. 

 The aviary was really neat and we'll probably visit it more often.
