Chuck E. Cheese

My aunt Nancy had knee replacement surgery last month and since she is feeling better but not back at work yet, we invited her out for a sleepover. We watched Austenland and then Nancy and Elliott had a sleepover in our spare room. I remember loving my sleepovers with Nancy when I was little and so it was doubly wonderful to watch Elliott have the same experience. Aunt Nancy is super fun with kids! 

Saturday morning we showed Nancy our favorite local duck pond. Spring is here and we saw lots of varieties of ducks. 

 We spotted these birds way out on the pond and I could tell they weren't ducks. A closer look in the binoculars and pictures from our bird book helped us figure out they are double crested cormorants.

It's very cool to find and identify something new!

 On our walk around the pond, Elliott was happy to stomp and skip and be silly. He definitely loves his buddy great-aunt Nancy!

 After the pond, we went to Chuck E. Cheese! Elliott was beyond excited! We ordered a pizza and cheesy bread and had 20 tokens to use on awesome games. Elliott was bouncy with excitement

Bonus, you win tickets for playing the games! 

Not quite whacamole, but hitting the Hammerhead sharks was pretty fun. 

This roller coaster ride didn't give you tickets, but I think Elliott enjoyed the ride. 

Nancy and I played Guitar Hero and I was really out of practice and Nancy killed me. 

At 2 pm, Chuck himself came out to dance with the kids and then throw free tickets. 

Elliott actually did the dance and then scrambled for as many tickets as he could pick up. 

He also gave Chuck E. a big hug, but he was bouncing with so much excitement, it was hard to get a picture.

We have started getting bird visitors coming to our bird feeder. So far all we have seen are the house finch and the house sparrow. 

These are house finches. The brown are female and the reddish ones are male.

It's nice to enjoy a rainy day in the warm house and watch the rain and birds outside. 

At Jensen Nature Park, Elliott and Brian using their binoculars to see the birds. We love having this so close to home and love feeding the ducks and walking the trails around the pond.
