We had Brian's family come over to our house for Easter Sunday. But before that, we colored Easter eggs on Saturday.
Elliott is getting pretty good at dipping the eggs. And he has so much fun and makes it more fun for the rest of us.
Our boys like to sleep in, so we got them up with just enough time to dress for church, then went to church at 9 am. We came home to Easter baskets after church. When Brian's family came over that afternoon, Marsha brought gifts from her latest trip, this time to Washington DC. Elliott got this awesome straw-making kit and was pleased to drink from 2 cups at once. Thanks again Marsha, it was a hit!
After a delicious dinner of cheesy potatoes, ham and rolls, it was time o go outside for the Easter egg hunt. Trevor hadn't had a nap and gets hysterical when there are lots of people in our house. He was screaming. I tried to bring him outside to find eggs since he loved it at the neighborhood party. But he just kept screaming. So I put him down for a nap.
Elliott had helped hide some of the eggs and was so excited to find more eggs. I have no idea why he looks so grumpy in this picture.
After the hunt, we celebrated birthdays. Marsha turned 68 today and Brian will turn 34 on his birthday on Friday. Here is Brian sporting our new family birthday hat.
(Trevor woke from a short nap in a better mood and hungry.)
Elliott was intrigued that his dad's birthday was on April Fool's Day and wanted to play a trick on him. So we planned for some punch balloons and silly string. Elliott was super sneaky and got his daddy.
Prank accomplished!
I think Elliott had way too much fun squirting the silly string.
Good thing we had dessert outside!
