Elliott has been excited to turn 4 for weeks and I kept telling him his birthday was after Halloween. Well on Halloween, he started saying his birthday was tomorrow. I told him he had to wait one more week. But the day finally arrived!
(Actually we had cake and ice cream and opened presents on November 4, the day before his birthday because Brian and I were going to Ender's Game with family on his actual birthday, but that turned into a big Elliott celebration too!)
Elliott had very specific instructions for his birthday cake. He wanted blue cake and blue frosting with candy decorations, candles, and spelling out "Happy Birthday Elliott." At the store, we found blue, cotton candy flavored frosting. Here, Elliott is smelling the delicious concoction.
He is so happy to b e a big boy and a man!
Lighting the candle is serious business!
At Elliott's 1st birthday he didn't want to touch the cake, but now he gets right down to business! He loved the cotton candy cake - Brian and I were too grown-up to fully appreciate it.
Elliott loved opening his presents, of course! He loves the spiderman car.
He also got a set of batman bad guys.
He was most excited to open this gift that was almost as tall as he was.
Ta-Da! Just what he's always wanted - a batcave!
There was no time to smile at the camera anymore. Playing was too much fun.
The next day we celebrated by going to Toys 'R Us with Grandma Ashton where she and Marsha bought him a Gotham City jail and a batman batmobile. Then we went to McDonalds for lunch and met up with Melinda's family to watch Planes at the dollar theater. We had dinner at the Ashtons and then Elliott played with Wendy, Andrew and Karoline while the rest of us went to the movie. We really enjoyed Ender's Game and then had cupcakes and sang happy birthday to Elliott again.
Elliott loved it all so much, he can't wait for another birthday so he can turn 5!
