Grandpa Time

Elliott is very outgoing and social with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, and even strangers. He has been a bit more wary of his Grandpa Ashton though. Maybe the growling sounds grandpa makes at babies has something to do with it. But this past Sunday we had dinner at Eric and Melinda's and Elliott was grandpa's buddy. At the table Elliott kept squirming out of my lap and ended up crawling around under the table. Grandpa pulled him up onto his lap and Elliott was content for the entire meal just watching grandpa eat.

I love how scrunched and cozy Elliott looks - and yes, the homegrown corn from grandpa's garden was delicious if you're wondering.
Elliott's patience paid off when grandpa shared the yummy trifle for desert.
I have noticed Elliott acts differently when on different laps. At church on Sunday on my lap he wants to play, eat, bounce, and wiggle to the floor so he can crawl around. But on Brian's lap, he sits quietly and looks around. I am amazed when most Sundays Elliott sits on Brian's lap during the last hour and just drops his head forward and falls asleep. Its as if he knows his daddy means business and mom is a pushover.
It looks like grandpa has the same talent and Elliott minds his manners and doesn't fuss on his lap either.
