My brother Craig and his wife Holly brought their kids down to Salt Lake for a doctor visit. While down in our neck of the woods, we planned to meet up at the zoo for some fun! It was a fairly cool afternoon - the zoo isn't as much fun in the sweltering heat of summer. We stopped for pictures outside the gorilla house.
Elliott is as tall as an ape, but his arms are much too short!
The Lighthouse slide at Rocky Shores is open. The splash pad didn't have the water turned on yet. Holly, Jeffrey and Emily at the top.
And at the bottom! Holly was brave to go too, I didn't want a turn at all! Elliott went down the slide once and then hopped on the rocks of the splash pad.
Elliott found the eagles nest, but looks a little lonely.
Now he has some eaglet cousins that will flap their arms and fly with him.
The otters are fun to watch swimming and flipping in the water, and this little guy was cute too!
Craig and Holly rented a stroller and at the end, Elliott needed a ride too. Luckily Emily and Jeffrey made room for him to ride too.
This the the last time we get to see the giraffes at the this spot. Next time we come to the zoo, they will be in the new exhibit with the zebras.
Watching this giraffe eat, we could see her long tongue reaching in the feeder to get the pellets out.
Climbing under the giant elephant, waiting for our turn on the trunk.
Elliott and Jeffrey getting a ride with Emily standing by.
We had snacks and water to get us through and it is always more fun to go through the zoo with cousins! Thanks for letting us tag along!
Now to go home for naps!
